Does the weather impact your burnout? The UK is on its 49th day of rain and it's killing my mood and motivation. Work is so much more enjoyable when you can walk there in the sun.

Opposite for me, rain makes me feel calm and rejuvenated. I despise sunny days and being outside during the hot ones boil my blood.

Sure, the weather can always have an effect on one's mood and sense of wellbeing. If you're suffering from burnout, the monotony of horrible weather may exacerbate the condition. Sunny days can always help, at least a bit.

I'm really grateful that the weather has never really impacted my mood or motivation. I live in dreary New England and a lot of people blame a lot of things on the bad weather. My burnout has nothing to do with the clouds in the sky.

Yes definitely! I am way happier and more productive on sunny hot days

US here and I literally moved from the Midwest to Florida because my seasonal depression was getting worse and worse as I aged. I have no regrets!!

Has anyone here gone from PM to Resource Management or vice versa? There seem to be a lot of resource management jobs out there, but they seem more monotonous than managing projects. What is the career trajectory for a RM?

We interviewed a great candidate, extended a verbal offer and she accepted. We sent the written offer a few days ago but she hasn’t opened it or accepted (it’s expiring tomorrow). Have you ever had to follow up? How did you handle it? My company is small with no HR, so I have to handle the hiring myself.

Y’all I am struggling on these “light” home improvement projects we decided to take on with a recent house purchase. Plan was just to replace carpets, paint some walls, and replace kitchen appliances. Now added on new faucets, other bathroom hardware / mirrors / toilets / medicine cabinets / exhaust fans, baseboard recaulking and cleanup, kitchen sliding door, ceiling fan rewiring and install, window replacements… how do I rein it in?? So stressed out and we keep delaying move in. 🤯😱😭

Has a partner ever come back and asked you why you spent so much time on certain things? Im a first year and this hasn’t happened to me at my firm and they tell us not to cut our own time, but my first firm (short stint, small firm) did this to me allll the time and made me feel guilty — so just curious if this has happened to anyone in big law.

Hello friends, looking at a JP opportunity and hopefully going into the offer process after today’s interview. What I need help is understanding the comp structure in non front office roles ? In Goldman we have PATC ( per annum total comp ) which is nothing but base + “promised” bonus % + RSU.. how do you have total comp defined in JP ? the bonus also a % of base and almost agreed upon ? Example my bases is 200k and bonus is 25 % etc ?

How does underwriting compare to PIP litigation in terms of flex time (ability to stop/start work throughout day, work at 2 am if needed, etc)

For example.. in PIP Litigation I can review my suits at 2 am if needed (as a result of having a rough day or other emergency) and still be in compliance

Does Underwriting carry any time sensitive tasks?
