I'm curious what the average salary is for an Associate Agent. I'm licensed & do everything after the sale is made as well as refer new business. I have 14 years in the industry but have been at the current company less than a year, so I know that plays a part as well. Anyone in a like-position by chance?State Farm Allstate Travelers

Underwriting > Claims in just about every aspect, especially flexibility and work/life balance. Underwriting has a little craziness for 2-3 weeks before 7/1 and before 1/1 but NEVER the craziness from claims
@lincoln I applied for PIP Lit on a whim tbh! I had the negotiating experience and understanding of injury systems used by the company so I didn’t need too much training in that area which I think helped me stand out amongst other applicants. My coworkers told me of how they never had to take any phone calls and only negotiated via e-mail with attorneys here and there (because our defense Counsel mainly handled that) and I was SOLD haha!

Every quote has a due date so yes because the agents/producer schedule their meetings with customers weeks in advance and I need to complete the quote usually a week before their meeting is scheduled to give time for them to review it and request any changes/fix any errors that may have resulted from outdated info from them or the customer. Then I also have rush quotes where the customer waits to provide their info until literally the day before their policy expires and then they request a quote. Everything in underwriting is time sensitive but since I work from home, I can manage my deadlines easily but I’m still expected to be available for calls and emails response 8-5 like everyone else.
In an office I was expected to stay in my cubicle 8-5 and even if I wasn’t super busy needed to look busy. Definitely more flexible WFH than in office.
WFH I can throw an errand in the middle of the day or stop working at 4 and just monitor for calls/emails if all my ducks are in a row.
As someone who is hybrid, there is still that feel of being chained to the desk and looking busy unfortunately.
I’m in group insurance. We do have time sensitive stuff that needs to be release. It could be 24 hours to 3-5 days depending on the type of requests. We also have monthly renewals that needs to be release by the end of the month. Our peak season is usually in the summer where work volumes is higher especially for 1/1groups then it’s dies down but I deal with “large” groups. Small group UW peak seasons are usually closer to the end of the year so it’s depends.
