There’s a lot. USAA just hired me on at 70k plus bonuses. 100% remote for property. I had a peer with 3 years get hired on as a Senior adjuster at 80k plus bonuses there last year 100% remote. I also got offers from 3 other companies in that range. 1 was with Progress for auto. 2 we’re smaller companies but I signed an nda with a recruiting company.
Prior I was at Travelers and they paid 73k base as a trainee but I would highly recommend elsewhere. I only had auto experience prior. They were sending me 19 new claims a day before supplements and transfers. They can’t keep employees because of bad management and staffing issues. I learned a ton though and became the 3rd most tenured non Tech Spec in the state after a year. This is a national issue so be warned, the money isn’t worth it.
Long story short, there’s A LOT of companies that you can reach that number with. Check major job post sites, google, and reach out to any recruiters you come across.
Just starting actually. I put in my two weeks tomorrow. I’ve had some peers work for them though. I’d say it’s known to be pretty average to better in the industry. The position is a little more like a team call center but they also promised 2 claims a day, absolutely no mandatory overtime, and any additional hours work is paid at time and a half. Benefits are actually pretty good and it has a pension in addition to the regular benefits. For me the trade off was worth it.
Companies like Progressive IT and AFICS (American Family Insurance Claims Services) have higher starting salaries than most other companies offer in this role. Typically speaking, you're looking to start at like 40-65k a year for other claims adjuster positions.
Not an adjusting role but a lot of insurance brokerage firms pay well. I started out as a claims analyst with no experience besides college and starting salary at 72k before bonus.
Please share the company’s name.
Mercury is in line with that
CSAA is a great company. I’m sure there are positions that start within that range. Check them out
I agree with the above - have heard great things about CSAA, Progressive. Might also check USAA?
At 75k total at Progressive but after 8 years in a intermediate lvl role. So base over 70 you will need to be a senior adjuster.
I would look and see if Allstate is hiring. I worked for them a few years back and absolutely loved it. Their benefits are great too.
Why did you leave?
