Does your restaurant have a tip pool? What do you do when the pool structure changes and your actual take‑home pay drops? I brought it up with management but they insist the ‘average’ earnings are the same or higher. I need more information around the numbers, but also don't want to get labeled as 'difficult' in the frist first six months of having the job. What would you do?

Pool tips are an exuse for restaurants to pay their back of house minimum wage because theyre to cheap to pay them what their worth and if your new then your even more screwed i would leave immediately

We don't do tip pools here. I have actually never worked somewhere that had one. I am glad that we don't do one because from what I hear, everyone hates them.

I use to work for a restaurant years ago and the tip pool system never sat right with me because I never get what I actually made. Plus, I don’t like that structure. They need a better system so we don’t take home a low pay. I would try to suggest a new system to your manager if possible.

Though i had counter offer of 17.3 (15.7 fixed)

Interviewed for a GS-15 (same agency but different office) and totally aced the interview with excellent answers. They know I’m a top performer with senior references. However I noticed there was an internal candidate who has been there for few years and interviewed that’s a veteran. I feel my chances just sank and want to gauge thoughts.
