Unpack the guilt. The company doesn't feel any guilt when trying to take advantage of you, so where is your guilt coming from? There is absolutely nothing wrong with setting firm boundaries. You do the work you agreed to do for the money you are paid. There should be no guilt in refusing to volunteer your time to generate more income for shareholders.
It’s not that I’ve ever felt guilty about drawing a boundary. It’s more I’m worried about being seen as replaceable if I’m not a team player. When the job market favored us, I had stronger boundaries. However, now that the job market favors employers I feel like I let some of those boundaries go.

This is the truth here if you ever told it. You can be the absolute best at your job but everyone is replaceable! Do what you can do! Do not get overwhelmed and stress yourself out. Everyone has their limits and you shouldn’t have to give your entire day, week, year to one job to be successful.

Guilt never! Companies can make a decision over night that they will lay off people and etc but want a two week notice from us to give them time. They never give us time and layoff is a big deal. Basically I have to figure out my life in a hurry while the people in charge are still making money and living comfortably.
