Unions are political mobsters who do the bidding of the Democratic Party.
Many teachers don’t add value to what the student can learn on their own through Khan academy.
Elementary teachers should be divided by subject matter - too many math/ science phobic elementary teachers.
Pay should be based on subject demand and merit pay based on sharing evidence based units.
Current system of teacher retirement rewards snarky malevolent teachers who wanted to retire 15 years ago but are holding on for year 24 when they get $900 more a month.
DEI has done more harm to morale, student mental health , and units now based on identity to one’s group based on immutable characteristics.
Grade floors/ grading for equity is an unmitigated disaster.
The requirement for career experts to jump through a BS degree / ROP certification/ TPA induction to teach welding/ carpentry/ electrical/construction skills has gutted our vocational ed. Students can only find certificate programs through private programs or community college work collaborations which have an 18 year old min age requirement.
Boys are being told they are toxic and need to shut up (stop mansplaing!) and demonized in the curriculum and in the classroom. Teachers fawn over queer students and celebrate their bravery but shun cis white boys.
Gender ideology infused in the curriculum has put a wedge between parents and their children and teachers are tacitly approving students keeping secrets from their parents.
Freedom of speech for heterodox views is non existent and is seen as akin to hate speech and teachers are blind to their cult like repression of discourse and disparate views.
I wish I could love this response more than one.
I’m paid fairly, especially when I take into account my outstanding benefits.
Families, I need to know your personal business so I can support your child in the best way.
Not in my experience, but possibly others: believe us when we say your child stands out from the norm. It is Not a slam on you, rather it’s something to follow up with a doctor, etc. I can see what’s more than just “the age” or “personality” ranges
