Go to a local jeweler (or even better, the jewelry district in a major city) and get a custom ring made instead. Can be literally half the cost which means you can get a bigger diamond! Diamonds and gold are the same exact thing no matter where they are purchased. Save the designer brand name purchases for things like leather goods or at least signature jewelry pieces. No one ever asks me what brand my engagement ring is but I get complimented a lot and people mention how big and sparkly it is! It even has my husband and I’s initials hidden in the setting. Plus if you are shopping without your intended fiancé she won’t even get the luxury shopping experience! No real reason to pay the designer markup.
I agree with this. My husband did this for my ring. It’s beautiful and cost half of retail value, maybe even less compared to brands like Cartier and Tiffany.
second AA1 - if you’re ever in London (I think they take international orders as well), I recommend Simon from Bespoke Goldsmith, located at 16 Baldwin’s Gardens
