I'm struggling - I used to love my job not only because the work was interesting, but because I truly enjoyed my coworkers. But for the last year or so, the culture has become toxic due to layoffs...

So, I gave my agency an advanced 4 week notice of my departure so they could have time to plan for my replacement and the team wouldn’t be left in a lurch, and now they’re deciding that my last day will be two weeks earlier. That doesn’t feel right. It feels like I’m being fired for quitting. An agency full of good people you thought were your friends turned out to be all about business and numbers. Lesson learned. Never give an advanced notice.

In the S&O practice and have not been staffed since mid March. Since then been doing 50-60 hrs a week on BD (I’m a Manager for reference). Utilization was around 100% back in March currently 70%. Great reviews in Lead liked by colleagues etc. However the past few weeks have been quite depressed as I’m worried I’ll be laid off. Took a week off to take a mental break but can’t seem to relax at all (lockdown + lack of childcare isn’t helping) should I start updating my resume?

Got a few emails this week about PwC looking to hire, specifically looking for assurance associates and seniors. I know there’s been some layoffs in B4 recently, so if you’re interested, message me and we can talk referral.

I'm thinking I won't be getting promoted if not laid off at the end Q2 or sooner. What are some good exit ops for an associate with 2 yoe in tech consulting? Exp in Cloud, PMO, IT Risk, and SoD.

Sebior associate just got stealth fired from a V10 (i.e., there's no business case to promote you in October out of the associate pool because of COVID). Will likely be given a formal recommendation to look elsewhere in September but it seems clear their mind is made up. Any advice? Is there any value in considering an employment lawyer re severance etc? Not sure whether to apply now for jobs ideally starting early next year or to wait and take some time off completely.

So are the layoffs at Deloitte over ?

My firm pays staff & seniors hourly, with 1.5x pay for overtime. Firm just cut our hours from the normal 58-60 down to 40 a week for the foreseeable future. Should I be concerned about layoffs?

Is it worth looking for another opportunity?
I am afraid after seeing layoffs news of EPAM, Publicis Sapient & most of the other companies calling employees in the office.
I love my WFH in PwC India & base location of Kolkata. & the best thing is stability in PwC India, they never lay off!!

Anyone here familiar with the hiring process of KPMG consulting in Van? Had a partner interview on Nov 21, thought the feedback was positive but haven't heard back yet (no rejection/offer). Is it something normal or the interview just didn't go as well as I thought?

It's an experienced hire for an SC role. I saw the posting is still open atm, and my guess is that the recruiting team is comparing candidates since competition is higher due to recent layoffs.

Agency laid off all producers, is now having BA produce. BA texts laid off employees for vendor recs. 🙄 (the eye roll is at the agency, not the BA manager who didn’t sign up for this...)

Has anyone heard of Big 4 TAS layoffs?

When I was at Accenture I thought ACN Strategy was the top of the top but I didn’t go to a fancy school so imagine how hard it was to network my way in. Then they stopped transfers because of COVID and I was laid off despite all of the good reviews I had calling for me to be promoted. I was almost happy with 100k just to be a senior analyst in Strategy.

Today I just signed my offer at a tier 2 firm and I’m making over 180k. Thank you Accenture for the lay off. EVERYONE KEEP PUSHING!!!!!!!!

So for quite some time I’ve been doing my responsibilities as well as several others including Workday security admin. I asked for a raise which admittedly amounted to around 40% but that’s a fair rate based on market, current responsibilities and would bring me only to the AVERAGE salary of people with my title in the same company

The approved only 10% and a title promotion, which brings me still 20k short of my target- I probably know the answer but it’s time to move on isn’t it

Senior Staff Consultant (Engineering) in a M->HCOL with 15 YOE currently making 95k. I feel I am underpaid. I am from another country working in the USA on an O1 visa. Can it be that my company is "using" that to their advantage? How do I approach this conversation? When I signed and agreed to my salary in March 2021 before coming over, costs in the USA in general (especially homes) were significantly lower than what they are now, effectively changing the value of my salary significantly.
