Not growing pains and also doesn’t necessarily mean you’re in the wrong industry, but instead at the wrong organization. Sounds like typical agency life culture. Be patient though, it might get better. If it doesn’t, move on to an organization that fits what fuels you.
Agency culture is good and colleagues are friendly, but I’m still feeling a little disconnected from it all. I’m keeping an open mind and aiming to stay for at least a year before moving on!
If you're working with exciting clients, you're already ahead of many. I disagree that looking for another agency is the solution; instead, be proactive and be the solution or inspiration, instead of waiting for it to come to you.
Honestly, it’s not for everyone and it depends on the clients you work with. Best advice is to trust your gut but I’m telling you it’ll be a great experience overall to have on a resume. Most of us in house come from agency life! The world of PR/comms is a revolving door after all so don’t burn bridges either.
Completely agree! I’m keeping an open mind and learning as much as I can from the experience.
