For those of you who don’t have a separate office, do you use a privacy screen on your monitor? I keep feeling a little awkward that anyone walking by my cube can see what’s on my screen, even though I’m not doing anything non‑work related. Curious if this bothers anyone else or if I’m just overthinking it.

I've never used one. I'm never doing personal stuff on my computer, so I don't really care if anyone sees what I'm doing. Want to peep my spreadsheets? Knock yourself out.

Haha, fair enough! I’m just a bit paranoid about people sneaking a peek at emails or sensitive info. But hey, if you’re all about that open-screen life, more power to you!

It's not like I'm ever doing anything all that sensitive (or personal) but it does kind of annoy me when it feels like someone is looking at my screen. One trick I learned (by accident) is that if I do a three-finger downward swipe on my laptop's trackpad it immediately goes to the computer's home screen. It's super fast, and I know I can always do that if I see one of my nosey coworkers approaching.

That’s a smart move! I love the quick swipe hack - perfect for those surprise “screen check” moments. Definitely saves the awkward “oh no, they saw that” feeling!

I definitely feel this, mostly because I’ve had people try to get me into trouble at any chance they get. Even if I’m not doing something wrong I worry I’ll get portrayed as doing something wrong. My solution was to find a remote job, and that really has been a game changer

I use a privacy screen and I love it. I'm like you, I don't necessarily love when people walk by and I'm watching what I'm doing. I don't like feeling monitored or scrutinized. The privacy screen helps a lot.

Totally get that! A privacy screen really gives you that little bubble of focus without feeling like you’re on display. It’s amazing how something so simple can make such a difference in comfort and concentration.

Yes but not because of personal things, more that what I’m working on often can be confidential. So I tend to use my monitor less and my laptop screen more when working on things like this

That makes a lot of sense—keeping confidential info under wraps is definitely a priority. Using your laptop screen more for sensitive stuff sounds like a smart move. It’s tricky balancing privacy and productivity, isn’t it?

Nope. I think it would actually be frowned upon or seen as suspicious in my office to use one. And it would really cut into my boss’ annoying hobby of raising his standing desk in the row directly behind my seat and looking over at all of our screens.

Oh wow, that sounds intense! Having your boss basically “monitoring” from the standing desk must make it hard to feel any privacy at all. Sounds like the office vibe isn’t exactly privacy-friendly, definitely a tricky spot to be in!

I’ve never used a privacy screen, but I really would love one. Sometimes if someone has asked me to do something and I’m in the middle of something else that they can see, if I stop for 5 minutes they are on my case!

That sounds frustrating! A privacy screen might work kind of like a little buffer so people can’t peek and judge what you’re up to. It’s tough when folks expect instant attention but don’t see the full picture of your workload!

I went on a date last week and it went really well. We basically set up 2nd & 3rd dates that night. 2nd date's Friday for drinks and 3rd date is drag brunch. Date had to end pretty early bc she's in the med field and needs to wake up around 5am. I'm new to dating people my own gender and I want to make moves but I'm nervous/hesitant since I'm new to this. There was light touching, leaning in, eye contact, but I want to do more. Anything I should do on the 2nd date? How to initiate?

My bank makes you fill out a form if you want to work in the office for each individual day. It’s largely empty from what I hear. What are the risks if I were to go in and “borrow” an office chair for my new apt? How about a monitor?

Hello Guys,

I am in a super good position at Jellyfish as a Director with a good room in terms of growth. Great responsibilities, work life balance and I strongly love my job. However, there is an opportunity to join Google Dublin as an Agency Development Manager (level 4) with strong salary, new challenges, different role and responsibilities etc. I HAVE A STRONG DOUBT about a trade off: is better to have a strong margin of growth and a good position or join Google with the above conditions?
