Get your documentation in order. Make sure the new manager has all the info and SOPs they need to feel confident in their understanding of the job from day one. I'd also recommend scheduling regularly checkins to make sure things go smoothly. You can't account for every single thing they're going to need to be successful from the jump, so you need to keep those lines of communication open.
I'm sure there will be some level of learning and adjustment curve. I have my first meeting with them this week and plan to give them an overview of my day to day and current lay of the land. I tend to be an employee a lot of people know have their stuff together so I'm hoping that helps me through the transition.

I second that. As someone who has gone through three manager transitions this year (restructure + mat leave!), get all your documents in order. I keep a running tracker of my goals + how I’m tracking toward them so it’s clear as I’m meeting with a new manager. I’ve also had more regular touch bases just as we start working together. If you’re able, I also have found it help to meet with both my former and new manager just to make sure everything is clear.

Haha honestly it was just some bad timing! I moved teams, so my manager switched. Then my new manager just went on maternity leave. So definitely not the norm!
