D1 is right. 3+ means, its a 3 for now, but we may consider giving a 2 after hearing the rest of the performance. .. pretty much you like you did slightly better than a 3.. but we would like to compare how others did & move you to a 2 based on factors, also the money pool for that level/ service line.. All my 3+ & 2+ got 2 & 1 last year.
It’s the bubble. After the day they will confirm who in the + will go which way. With the new ‘no ratings’ in some practice, this might actually link to more comp

D performance system sucks, the 3+ & 2+ is just to fool the employees..
Helps with comp too. A 3+ might get more coin than a 3.
