Basketball HOF is worth a visit, but not easy to get to from Boston (also that’s the only draw of Springfield). 3 day visit you have more than enough touristy stuff to do locally.
Thanks I will probably be adding a day trip to Salem and the Peabody Essex Institute It's been a while. HOF will just have to wait.
Harvard has a lot of museums most of which I believe are free. I was at their computer/tech museum years ago and they have an early computer with an actual bug (insect) that was found in it, blocking the works. This is the genesis of a “computer bug”.
That's funny.
I live in Boston and have never nationally visited Springfield. I have stopped because I was already there for something else for the weekend, but that’s it.
You mention other museums all outside of the city.. have you been to any in the city?
The first time I visited Boston was many years ago when they had the Renoir retrospective since then I have seen several of them. My favorite is definitely the Science Museum. Thank you for your post.
I recommend Isabella Stuart Gardener museum or the ICA in the city. MFA is nice but can easily eat up your whole day
I enjoy that one.Another good one is Harvard University's Natural History Museum particularly the Crystal Flowers.
