Rising Star
Yes I have!!! I loved it and I’ll give you some advice I wish I heard:
1. Walk around everywhere first, look at the fabrics and then pick a store. Everyone wants your business but go towards the stores that have more women items than men.
2. Set up a Pinterest board of the clothes you want, make a list before hand. I wasn’t as prepared as I wanted and just impulse listed off many things, in retrospect I wish I made a list of the shirt colors, suit colors, dresses that I wanted and followed that.
3. !! This is the big one: it is NOT a 24 hour experience, you need a least 5 days to properly get your tailoring needs accomplished. If you try and do 24 or 48 hours you will get an extremely rushed experience. We did 5 days and even on the 5th day we were waiting for the tailors to drop off our stuff so we could make it in time to get to the airport. There’s so much to do in Hoi A for 5 days I could have stayed longer.
In total I got 1 suit, 2 linen pants, 1 linen shirt, 3 custom dresses. Husband got 1 suit, 1 tuxedo and a few custom shirts and our total was <$900 USD for all that.
Also I highly recommend Asia Pioneer Travel if you need a travel coordinator— they booked a 5-star trip for us and everything was taken care of through them: hotels, airport travel, cooking classes, private tour guides and experiences. Cannot reccomend Vietnam enough it’s been my favorite place in the world I’ve been to!!
Thank you! This is so helpful! I shop at Tuckernuck too sometimes so we may have a similar style. It’s great to hear that you love the clothes. Really appreciate these insights! Thanks for taking the time to share!
