I’m less tired working 60-80 hours a week in front of the computer (but incorporating gym 4x a week) than when I was on my feet 40 hours a week in hospitality, etc
I did when I left retail. I prefer the pay from this job and the activity of my old one. I'm way too fidgety to be thrilled about sitting at a desk 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week. My daily step count is like half of what it used to be.
Went from a semi-active job to a desk job. I was on my feet walking around, but not exactly doing manual labor. I loved sitting at first, but now it’s a conscious effort to move myself a few times through the day.
This is an interesting thought. I find post graduating school I’ve become so sedentary and gained weight. It’s not good. An active job would change that but I wonder what would be a good fit.
I have lots of colleagues who transitioned from retail to working in corporate. They prefer corporate hours for sure
I mostly like the desk job. However, I do get restless sometimes and have to get up and walk around. I think an ideal position for me would be one where I get to combine desk and active work. I don’t know if that exists though.
