Best business-oriented, but novel-style books with good writing, style, & interesting characters? Not really self-help/advise focused, more of actual literature with business themes/plots. Any recs?

Book recs? I love reading self-help books but sometimes they bore me. Any good fiction series out there that can get me reading more often?

I'm a very logical guy who tends to respond better to semi-academic self help books than to therapy (although I do both). Anyone have any recommended reads on anxiety disorders including PTSD?

Audiobook recommendations? Currently listening to The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck and I’m enjoying it, but I’d also be open to listening to novels aside from self help books.

There's a ton of self help and leadership books out there to help people in their careers. If there was one that was written front the lense of a public accounting, would you read it?

Would you say summaries are as effective for self help books like "the subtle art of giving a fk" and other similar books? I feel the books themselves ramble on too much on a side story only to tell a point that could be summed up in a couple sentences. Or am I just not getting good book recommendations for growth/development on mental well being and productivity

What “self help” books are you guys reading? I just read Untamed by Glennon Doyle and wow, I want to start from the beginning again, but feel like I should read something else. Would love any suggestions.

Ok so. I have been on this journey for almost a year now to try and 'get to know and love myself' and I'm not there yet. I separated from my ex in March of 2020 and divorce was finalized in October 2020. I'm still sad, lost, angry etc. I'm trying/tried therapy, meditation, ayurveda, self help videos, books, but I'm not happy with myself and I don't think I know myself. I want to be happy alone before I meet anyone new. Any tips or advice on how I can effectively accomplish this? Thank you!

Wife and kid are going to be out of town for the next 2 weeks. Instead of wasting time, I’d like to do something productive. What would you do if you have say 3+ hours a day. Maybe self help, wealth creation type books, work out daily, take care of some things around the house.

Taking some time off. Need some book recommendations. Some light interesting non-fiction. No self help or management books. Just interesting topics that won’t make me think about work.

Anyone have good NON-FICTION recommendations? Enjoy self-help and psychology books (as long as they’re not overly pedantic). Already read grit, outliers, atomic habits, running (haruki murakami)

"Count blessings/be positive/life is what you make it" peddlers: negative feelings are not chosen, this isn't a flippable switch and self-help comments definitely won't help if all the books haven't.

What type of self help strategies do individuals actually find helpful when you feel burn out or stuck in a rut? Any books, apps, meditation, podcasts, etc, others find helpful? I've done therapy and it has definitely helped this past year with covid and a marriage separation, starting to feel like I'm making progress and want to keep up the momentum. Looking to see what type of self help others find actually beneficial and would love to use that to help others stuck in burn out too

Any books/self help materials for someone who is constantly worrying (and waste a lot of unnecessary time)? E.g. No matter if i pass or fail an interview, there is always something to worry about. The worrying/anxiety multiplies when I proceeded further in the interview stages. Now that I signed the offer and is pending background checks, my anxiety is off the roof as it itches closer to my starting date.

I’m 27 and im at a juncture in my career. I’ve been in a job for eight months and plan to stay two years. After the two years is up I’ll choose to either go back to school for a MBA in Marketing (the industry im working in) or I’ll go work for another company. Are Marketing MBA’s worth it? I project my next job will pay $100-150k. Current $85k, and I let them lowball me because I liked the company. Would it make more sense to get a new job and just ride the market?

I’m 24 years old and will make about 90k this year. Very happy with that and content with where I am now as opposed to this time last year. I understand it’s not all about the money, and I have a VERY good WLB that is non negotiable for me in my career, but I am curious at what point in your life did you stop chasing the money as much? Was it once you hit a certain salary? Or once you reached a certain milestone? Or another reason? Or never!?
