When a recruiter emails you at work, how do you respond? I feel like it’s stupid to use my firm email for that, but it seems like when I forward to my personal email and reply there, I never get a response?

Is there any advantage to telling a company you are interested in working for in the future where you decided to accept an offer from? Or does it not matter? I accepted an offer a week ago with a great company (Company A) that for this season in my life seems like a great fit and only strengthens what I have to offer company B down the road. Company B just sent me a request for interview and I want to keep the door open with Company B but they were just very late in extending an interview.

Resume question I've had three positions over my career one of which lasted 3 months and that I got fired from, the job search took an additional 2 months. Is it worth it to leave the 3 month stint off my resume? It might be easier to explain getting fired then a 5-month gap I was thinking

At the last interview, at the end I was told the job was for management but I prepared for a different kind of interview. I am waiting for an offer or rejection letter. I was just informed after the third round of interviews they’d like at least 5 references, two must be supervisors. My last job was a temporary remote job where I didn’t really interact with my supervisor and the jobs before that were at my family’s business (I do not speak to any of them for serious personal reasons.) Starting to feel I don’t like litigation. Third year. I’m not excited about winning an argument or destroying the other party’s arguments. But the current market doesn’t seem to favor a transition.

I’ve been working at a rather prestigious midsized firm in a big city for almost a year and a half now. I have been having a lot of trouble picking up work from senior partners. We are required to bill at least 150 hours per month to meet our requirement. My months are typically only 110-130 hours. It seems like the senior partners already have their “go to” associate for things. Does anyone have any suggestions on how i can increase my workload? I reach out for work pretty much weekly.

I practice litigation defense and recently started growing a plaintiffs practice on my own at my firm. I’ll probably bring in $300k to the firm just from that this year. Although I enter my time on these cases and they count towards my hourly goal, should I ask for a contingency % in addition to my salary moving forward?

FL peoples: I signed a lease for a new place to start May 1 as my current landlord sold the unit I'm in. Turns out, the buyer wants to keep renting the unit and asked if I want to stay. Of course I want to stay. My new lease hasn't started so I'm pretty sure I can easily back out. I work in a firm that is known for litigation defense. I’ve been developing my own plaintiffs practice as well. I am able to pay the bills with my hourly defense work, which gives me time to focus on a handful of high value PI case a year on contingency. I was recently negotiating a case and was told part of the reason the claims rep/OC was jerking me around was because they didn’t see me as a plaintiffs attorney. Is there any way to change this perception or does it just come over time?
