I have 6 YOE in. Net+Angular and got an offer from Legato Health Technologies with 20 LPA Fixed, i joined Infor just 11 months ago with 12LPA Fixed and i will get the hike in August. If i resign now i will not get hike and i am a critical resource in the project, i guess Infor might try to retain me by matching offer. What should i do? Should i resign ASAP and not negotiate with Infor . I have all these doubts because Infor is a product based company.

Interested in this as well. I think to successfully work a part-time schedule in consulting, you have to be very strict about boundaries and letting team members know not only the days you work, but also what your specific work tasks are (instead of a more open-ended type of role).
I've been reduced for 15 years, but in audit. You will definitely need to set boundaries and stick to them. Block your schedule for time you are not working and train your co-workers to respect that (unless there's an emergency). I have found that I still work over my 'reduced schedule' when needed to meet a deadline, but I still feel good about it if I'm on track at year-end....meaning, sure, I pulled some late nights for a deadline, but I was able to take that time back somewhere else. Also, make sure your annual goals/metrics and book of business are reduced by the same amount as your schedule....otherwise you will end up just doing the same work for less money.
Yes. It was a pain in the @ss, but that was also under a predecessor firm. Leadership in the national firm we merged into was the reason I was able to get promoted...it's much more common here.
Personally, I would rather do a compressed schedule rather than reduced and log back in after I put my child to bed. We have that as an option and I have a coworker who navigates it pretty well by blocking off Fridays.
Don’t do the reduced schedule. Do you work only 40 hrs / week now? Because if not, you won’t be able to hold it down to 32, especially since everyone else will be expecting 40+.
What are 'full-time' hours at your firm? Ours are 2350, which averages out to 45 hours/week. So a 90% schedule should get you to a 40 hour max. I'm 75% and my annual average is 34 hours/week. This is hard for some people to understand that full-time in public accounting doesn't usually mean 40 hours/week. But it's all time mgmt. If you can keep yourself at 45 hours/week and not 60 hours/week, then you're also capable of keeping yourself at 35 or 40 hours per week instead of 45, just have to set boundaries and manage your workload. I would not recommend trying to do the same amount of work in less time.
I’m not going reduced schedule due to similar concerns. Some of the women above me went part time but ended up still working more than others (men) in the office, including often working late nights and weekends. I’m going to try to take advantage of flexibility and WFH without taking a paycut and am hoping that works.

I made the change to freelance consulting for a boutique consulting group (I didn’t start with consulting as my w2). Being 1099 comes with a ton of risks but I can actually have a true say on what days I work. I heard mixed reviews on the 4 day thing with workload and I wanted less hours than that anyway. It’s been only 1 month but I love the flexibility and the partners are both moms so they understand. My w2 boss was a semi sexist dad who clearly let his SAHM handle anything child related so I think who your boss is also plays a huge role with part time success
I started working part time earlier this year in corporate accounting. Had to lay out exactly what tasks I think need to be distributed to others and communicate clearly to make it work. I probably still work a little more than my pay now but was just given a higher bonus to offset that. Now thinking to go back to full time to further advance my career ….
