I joined in Nov but has been told by my manager that I am not eligible for this year.

Variable pay(bonus) also I have been told I will be getting it in 2027 March for the year 2026. Apparently I am not eligible for bonus as I have not spent 6 months yet. It's weird but my manager tells me the budget of bonus is limited and has to be allocated by them accordingly and since there are my teammates ranging from who have spent more than 8 months(Few have almost been here for a decade) are more eligible so I won't get it this year. I have never seen a system like this anywhere I worked earlier but I guess here the people leaders(LL5s) decide how the distribution of bonus works.

I have an offer and want to negotiate

1. London base salary but I have to absorb all the expenses (train + stay)
I am thinking to negotiate to

2. home base salary and have my expenses paid for

I know that's depends on the amount I have to travel (and potentially stay) but at the moment this is unknown. Past 8 months was just twice a month + 2 nights stay.

The only thing I know is it won't be every week, the return trian ticket is about £80-100, depends I could plan ahead.

Should I specialize in Blockchain or AI? I’m a freshman in a CS degree and I can’t decide. My main argument to choose blockchain is the easy entry with little experience and high salary, I plan on growing my skills during the bear market and get a job once the market recovers. Regarding AI, I find this field fascinating but I feel like it requires a lot of experience, degrees and diplomas.

currently tossing up between staying at a global company (who is in the process of some positive changes) with an amazing manager who supports my career and flexible working … however comes with the inherit issues that come with a long standing global company

compared with a role at a smaller mga, higher salary (around 30%) more , more visibility career wise and some great employee benefits , management seem to be supportive and low staff turnover
