4YOE @Amazon & trying to lateral to a similar role @FAANG. Have my undergrad GPA (3.8/4) on resume from top 15 school but colleague says to take it off (looks silly). If it’s a good school & high GPA, why ever take it off your resume? Even if 10 YOE...can’t hurt?

A colleague told me today that Google separates Product Manager and Product Owner as two separate roles. I believe that one PM role is preferred in the industry and most modern software companies, especially FAANG companies, only have PMs. Just curious what others have experienced and if I'm correct in my assumption.

Just got another rejection... Is exiting to FAANG or MB really this hard? Trying to go tech.. or mbb, but not getting anywhere. I have 2 masters (mba, ms) from top schools, been in consulting for over 10 years, I am confident that I know my stuff well..but still I keep getting rejected. Interviewed with Google, Amazon, Cisco, McKinsey, and a few others and every-time there is something that is not a match... are the hiring managers looking for like 100% match? Outside of FAANG, what are good large CA-based tech companies that provide good pay, WLB, and culture? DD has great people and WLB, but pay is low and you’re not given the tools and resources to succeed + truly make an impact. Google and Apple are ideal but need backups. Like is Salesforce still good? SO and I got in to a disagreement on the background of Indian tech CEOs. It appears that they are all from 1 or 2 major communities in India.

While he thinks that its genetics/being naturally gifted that got them to where they are I believe it's the environment & discipline that made them successful. We are not from said communities but curious to hear your thoughts on who is more accurate.

For Indian citizen who wish to travel with their spouses or kids who are US citizens, do not have OCI’s and wishing to stay more than 30 days in India. I dropped by Indian consultant in DC and received 1 year multiple entry visa (x-visa) for my kids. I didn’t have to provide any reason for emergency other than saying we wished to stay longer than 30 days to spend time with family. No questions asked, provided the money order and applications and recieved the visa in 30 min CONTD...

My passport expired at the end of January. Can I still travel to india if I plan to return by early Jan (before passport expires)? Or does india require 6 months validity on the passport. It’s a US passport FWIW. I don’t have time to renew since it’ll take 3 months!Thanks!
