Cold/flu season has begun! everyone coming into work with a cold and spreading the germs all over the place ! 😒

Our firm told everyone no bonuses this year due to the pandemic. However, people like myself with high utilization received a “bonus” in terms of a gift card. My director notified me of this, but the other day my boss was mentioning how no bonuses this year really sucks. I was told by the director to not mention it to anyone but I figured if anyone knew I got one it’d be my boss. I feel super uncomfortable now because do I essentially lie to my boss because I’m not supposed to talk about it.

Anyone have insight into what Corporate Development at PayPal is like?

In this field, when choosing a masters degree program is it more beneficial to get a degree in Human Resources to further my knowledge in HR (my undergraduate degree is in Economics) , an MBA, or Data Science Degree due to the fact that HR is becoming more data driven as well as get a PHR / SHRM-CP certification?

I'm a fresher starting as a Data Engineer (Banking Domain).

Can any experienced professional give me some advice how can I improve my skills and grow in career.

Apple laptop question: starting with Apple next week and just received their laptop, but it does not come with any pre-configured corporate credential. Is this normal that we have to set everything up from the scratch on day 1?

If your employer mandated you need to come in 5 days a week would you consider quitting? My situation is I live in my geographical territory and the office is 45 minutes away. No performance issues at quota consistently.

I am currently working as analytics professional. Some of the work included but not limited to are Insights generation, root cause analysis, creation and maintenance of data pipeline for owned charters and projects.

Regularly used tools are SQL (Hive, Trino, MSSQL), python, dashboarding tool.

I have received my first offer letter, now what all things I should do to get more job calls and better offer?

I was given a 15k, 0% loan to pay off my student loans upfront from a family member. Would it be better to invest this money and just pay back my family member monthly since the 4% rate on my loans would be less than (hopefully) the amount gained in the market?

Anyone feel as if it’s hard to stay with a company when you’re the only one of color? (&young) I’ve work for 3 companies in past 5 years and have yet to make meaningful colleague relationships. I just do not relate to the conversation and just find it hard to picture myself being a long-term employee. I’ve had better relationships when working at wal-mart when I was in college. I feel it takes away some of the joy of having to go to work.
