If you’re looking into going back to school, why would you stay in retail? Unless you’re looking for like some kind of corporate position or merchandising position? Going back to school usually means you’re trying to get out of retail. Getting a degree, isn’t likely going to help you earn more money if you’re just working at the store level.

Can we show unequal rent split up between husband & wife for HRA?
Let's say we pay 20k in rent. I want to show that I pay 15k and wife can show 5k. Is this sort of break up possible without explicitly mentioning it in the rent agreement?

SO and I are debating contributing to 401k this year since the rate of return is around -11% on our portfolios this year. I believe it would be better off saving the cash in my account.

I'm thinking of contributing again when/if the market picks up next year. Thoughts?
