Similar to Black QBs winning MVP in the NFL.

You need to have a higher amount in the positions to see real representation.

Until we have a fair amount of Black CCO’s/CMO’s, we will not see ourselves on the podium.

This is mostly a larger problem of representation within creative agencies themselves. It’s different in various parts of the world. I can speak for Ireland in that black representation in agencies is less than 1%. I do know one person, and they happen to work for an award-winning agency.

What kind of awards are we talking here? Design awards? Yes. Advertising awards? Mostly no unless the black person is a writer and/or has a white creative partner to make the recruiters and creative department (mainly white people) feel comfortable. If that black person does not have a white creative partner, it is damn near imposible to be taken serious by award winning advertising agencies and their recruiters.
