I've been in PeopleOps (mostly focused on TA Ops) for over 9 years now. I've somehow gotten by without a degree in HR or a certification, but would like to get some more education to continue to advance my career. What are your thoughts on PHR vs SPHR vs SHRM for someone with my years of experience and current role as a manager?
Thoughts on PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP certs? I have approximately 9 years of HR exp and my bachelors and MBA. Been debating on whether or not I need to fulfill my urge to get a certification. Wanted to get some thoughts around whether you have a similar background and opted to or opted to not get their certification? Thanks!
Which certification we would you recommend for career advancement to be an HR manager? PHR or SHRM? Any other certification I should consider? Pros and cons would be greatly appreciated!
How much is fair to ask for a Sn HR Generalist position in Alabama? I have a Master’s degree in Business law and legal careers, and PHR. I have 7 years of experience and will be the only HR personnel for about 150 employees.
Don't you think it's high time ppl start calculating in hand salary and how much % hike to ask n all?? I feel that's immatured behaviour when few of them ask these questions 😐
Itna padliya, coding bhi ati h, exp bhi h... Phr kyu??
How much would you renegotiate your current salary to if you picked up a new HR Cert? (PHR, SPHR, SHRM, IHRM, etc)
I am in the process of finishing up my MBA but considering also getting my SPHR or PHR cert. Is it even worth it or a waste of time and money?
For those of you who are certified (SHRM or PHR), what was your biggest takeaway from getting your certification? How has this helped you today in your HR career?
Hey all, new to this bowl. Currently a Tech Recruiter and eventually want to make the transition into a HRBP or HR Generalist role. Would love to hear from anyone who started in recruiting then transitioned into another area of HR. Have been thinking of either working on PHR certification or MBA with focus in HR mgt. Thanks!
Does anyone working in M&A Post Merger Integration, OCM, or Transaction Support have any thoughts on PHR (Professional Human Resources) certification? Worth pursuing?
I am currently obtaining my masters of science in Human Resources at USC, hv a PHR -SHRM certificate in Human Resources and a bachelors in communication with minor in business. I have about one year work experience… is applying for Human Resources management out of the question? In southern Cali.
I just recently promoted to HR assistant manager. I have my PHR and working towards my SPHR. I am the lowest paid employee in the depth. We have a senior specialist and a general specialist both make more than I do. They have been employed longer with the company. What is your advice on this issue?
I am taking the PHR for the first time next month. Looking for tips/strategy for studying!
Had multiple promising interviews the past 7 months but no job offers :( Looking for fully remote benefits or HR generalist type roles paying >80k. 6.5 years of total HR experience and 3.5 in benefits. Bachelors and PHR. Any leads are superrrrr appreciated!!
Anyone actually keep their PHR active? I got my cert in 2013 and have done nothing since.
Hi all, looking to career pivot from retail to talent acquisition/recruiting. Trying to make myself stand out to make up for my lack of experience. Some roles I am interested in prefer PHR or SHRM certifications. Would it be worth it to pursue a certification to land a position? Thank you
Should an employment lawyer consider getting a PHR/SPHR certificate? Is it worthwhile?
A lot of in house opportunities seem to be looking for them
Has anyone bought/ done the HRCI Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion in HR Management? I already have my PHR, but I’m looking to gain more knowledge/skills and beef up my resume. Is it worth doing? The course is $239 and you get 12 Recert credits with it.
Can anyone provide any incite into how a future interviewer would interpret leaving your old firm in the middle of busy season? I realize it can leave a bad taste in the mouth of my current employer but I would genuinely like to hear from some folks who have been in this position. Just trying to weigh the pros and cons.
Currently in ibanking as an associate and want to see if I can make the move to PE. Is the CAIA viewed favorably at all?
Why does McK call it as beach while BCG/Bain call it as bench? Any historical context to these two terms?
Can someone interpret what this cat saying? 😅
Is working in Mercedes Benz R&D better than any other Big 4 for Azure Data Engineer with ~ 2 yoe.
Apparently it seems that there is a policy in Mercedes that if we do not join after getting an offer letter we are blacklisted.
How is Wipro doing as a company? I have a job offer for Sales in the U.S. - the role and comp offered is good but not sure how the company is doing. Any inputs?
Found out I’m 7-8 weeks pregnant. I’m on a high visibility project and my role is critical. I work with very senior execs and my due date is 2 months before go live. Should I make the project leadership aware and be transparent so that they can start planning and/or look for a backfill? (I just started the project a month back)

Hubby: What's wrong? You're grumpy.
Me: *senior associate who also handled daycare drop off and pick up today, and gymnastics class while my husband napped from 4pm to 530pm* Nothing is wrong. I'm just tired.
Hubby: FROM WHAT?!
Thoughts and prayers for my husband please.
Paul went on IG Live this afternoon after Karine called the police. I have not watched the video, but bloggers report that Paul accused Karine of drinking in front of their son, domestic violence (shoving him), giving him an STD, and being pregnant again. The video ends with Karine asking to be taken to a shelter. Very sad.
I feel like my billable hourly rate is way too low. I know I’m only a second year at a boutique firm but for some clients I’m billed at only $175. I also have an MBA - am I crazy to think my hour should be “worth” more?

Since I started teaching writing, I started looking for a way students can write on their phone. I found that Microsoft Word Online, and Google Forms work best. They write on their phone. I get it digitally. No papers.

Funny how everyone wants to work in Tech, Finance, Strategy, Product Management etc when HR people at my clients are absolutely massacring everybody with total comp. CHRO making millions and 30 year old HR people that I work with that look like 18 years old making half a million. LMAO. People have no clue how well paid HR is.

Yes, the self study was effective and related to the test. What surprised me most was that many of the questions required judgement where there were multiple correct answers. My firm does reimburse for the class and the test.
I’m thinking to take the class... was the self study book effective? Well related to the test?
Does your firm pay for the test and class?
I think the books are enough if you’re diligent and good at learning that way HOWEVER I took that class (which itself was not very valuable) but we did “practice exams” and some of the questions were basically identical in the exam.
Took a class which was really great
Depends on your learning style. I used the self study books and passed the first time.
