I think these kids have the right idea. There's not going to be enough white collar jobs for all the grads emerging. Trades are extremely lucrative and nowhere near being automated.
Pro
I’ve been thinking the same. Skilled trades offer stability and good pay, and with automation on the rise, they might actually be the smarter long-term move than chasing traditional white-collar paths.

I don’t think it’ll pull more people away from finance, but I am happy to see these careers being viewed as viable for the new generation. These are jobs we NEED in the future, and too many workers are retiring out and not enough coming in.
Pro
Exactly, these are essential careers, and it’s great to see the next generation recognizing their value.
Yep!
Less stress good money less time spent in trade school means starting out with less or no debt
The trades seem to be a lot more recession-proof and AI-proof than pretty much anything else these days. I don't blame them for going anywhere where there's some sense of stability and hope for the future.
Pro
Totally agree. With everything going on in the world, trades offer real stability and a future you can count on. Makes sense that more people are seeing them as a smart choice.
Pro
Yeah absolutely, I wish I did!
