Philippines is the cheapest but you have to deal with sex tourists everywhere. Safety standards aren’t as high either. Thailand is more fun I think, though watch what season it is. Visibility can suck in monsoon season. Indonesia has some good diving too. Look at the southeast part of Bali. Some good diving in Indonesian and Malaysian Borneo too, including what may be the world’s best dive site, Sipadan.

Belize?

Cozumel

sandals resorts include scuba

I was in Thailand last fall and would not recommend it for diving. I had planned to dive but first day in Phuket found the water dirty, lots of floating garbage, bad visibility, mostly dead coral. This was on a day trip so might depend on where you go. Someone I was with that is very familiar with the area said the conditions we saw are pretty standard throughout Thailand, unfortunately. He is a diver as well. He recommended Indonesia but for quality of diving, couldn’t speculate on cost.

Yeah I think you just had a bad experience. Thailand has amazing diving. Everywhere in SE Asia has trash in the water depending on the season. Indonesia is not immune to floating garbage

Hi,
I have a couple of questions -
1. What is the average bonus pay for WM division ? I asked HR and he did not quote any range.
2. How long it takes to promote to 602 given an average to above average performer.
Thanks

Senior to Manager-level Data Scientists, what is the minimum set of skills and experience you require someone to have in order to train them to be a Data Scientist?

I have a handful of people from BI and Marketing who want to learn how to be a "Data Scientist" where some of them have stronger SQL knowledge and ability than others, but some of them have more exposure to languages like Python and R, and a little bit of machine learning exposure.

Appreciate the input in advance.

I have 5 YOE in Analytics... always thought I wanted to be a DS, but every job (even the junior ones) required experience in ML development. Though I am part of the ML project, I'm not the person develop the model. And I have a hard time when the interviewer ask about how I develop the model and what hyperparameters I tuned. I know the thought process and stuff but 'I' wasn't the one who did that part in the project. How to convince them that I could do the job without taking credit of others.
