I currently live in the Lehi area (4) years and am also interested in knowing! lol Also Welcome!
You can find them at church activities
Many major cities are left leaning and standard across the country. I’d focus more on making friends based on their hobbies rather than politics and which side they’re on. Common problem in America and why nothing will change.
I currently live in a metro w/ 8M people I think I have a grasp on how to make friends in populated areas. Just trying to be efficient about it but thanks for the advice though
I wouldn’t hold your breath. The conservative legislature is passing some of the most conservative laws in the nation. Church goers are mostly conservative in Utah. Your best chance of meeting someone left leaning is going to a bar, brewery, or distillery. If you’re not a drinker and you like the outdoors….go outside, there’s plenty to do outdoors and you’ll meet good people regardless of their political leanings. Echo chambers are not great places to hang out unless you’re close minded.
Where in SLC are you moving to?
It isn't as bad as people make it out to be. There are definitely very oppressive thing happening on the political side of things here, but as someone who was born and raised in Los Angeles, I transplanted here just fine.
SLC proper and the connected cities and townships are pretty blue and not very religious.
The 'burbs and the valley to the south (aka Utah Valley, "Happy Valley" or "Silicon Slopes") are more conservative and more likely to be religious.
Just consider that when deciding where to live and you should be fine.
Seems that most work places lean one way or the other but have a mix.
Live farther from downtown SLC and you are more likely to find folks who hunt and prefer motors on their bikes.
