I recently went through the hiring process at Deloitte USI for the Assistant Manager – FinOps AR role. Cleared all three rounds — Technical, Techno-Managerial, and Director level. Post-selection, submitted complete documentation via PHT portal and completed the Pre-Hire Survey too.

Weeks later, was informed the role was no longer available due to a hiring freeze. An alternative was offered at a lower designation and compensation, attributed to an internal oversight.

Has anyone faced something similar — a role retraction after full documentation was submitted? Did you push back, escalate, or move on? What worked?

I’m so grumpy about new campus hires. Sometimes I’m judgmental (your hobby is “working on your golf swing,” really?). Sometimes I’m just exhausted by the worried earnestness. Sometimes I’m amazed that they seem to have zero useful skills, yet they’ll be making 150k easily in the not too distant future.

I’ve had 4 or so sales interviews and I just can’t close on the interview. Also looking into marketing and market access roles too. I had a market access interview last week at Sanofi but they did mention they’re interviewing others…
