Hi All,

I am here to seek advice on choosing between termination from IBM's end or resignation. With a few more days before my probation period to complete, I got terminated from work citing performance reasons. This termination decision comes without sufficient prior notice.I am given only hardly 10 days to choose between resignation or termination. With termination, we get 3 months' salary and with resignation, we do not. Can termination affect my next job?

Should I move back to audit as manager?

I left one of the B4 as an S1 and joined another B4 an S2 in consulting. I have an opportunity to move back as an audit manager which would be an early promotion by over a year.

Would this move make sense if partner was a potential end goal?

Note: I don’t hate audit and could do it.

Hi everyone. I was given a verbal offer after some negotiation and I’m comfortable with the salary. There was no real discussion about anything other than salary. When the written offer arrives, have you had any success negotiating PTO, health insurance, retirement ect.? Thanks!

At what point do you draw the line on WLB? Working insane hours on a long/term project with what feels like no end in sight. It’s not sustainable but clearly expected. Could you get fired for drawing lines in the sand and saying (example) “come 8:30 every night I’m logging off”. That’s a 65 hour work week as-is but I currently am up until midnight working consistently. For context I’ve been rated as a strong performer consistently and am not new to the job so it’s not a lack of understanding.

Is bank interest riba?

I have been researching into this these days and there is literature that shares how lending worked in pre-Islamic Arabia. When the time to pay back a loan came, the lender would ask "would you pay or will you increase?" And that increase was usually doubling the loan. Subsequently ever year the loan wasn't paid it was doubled from the previous year.
