Employee law question:

In the state of CA for a full time non-exempt role. If fired without warning (no previous warnings/feedback) ⚠️ for "performance" (although performance was arguably good) or actually "team fit" (politics), do you have any case or legal standing?

I was hired by a company that is paying me a ridiculous amount of money to do my job, but they lied to me, they lied to all of the new hires. This isn’t underwriting, this is a call center. We aren’t even allowed to answer coverage questions when the agents call. The call volume is INSANE - like 70+ calls a day. There’s no actual underwriting happening, and I don’t know what to do. The money is great, but the job is a joke. I’ve been here for 2 months and I want out. Advice?

What are some things people forget to do when they buy their first house or that you wish you did? I just went under contract for my first house. I currently lead a team of UX consultants working at an enterprise client. Recently, the consulting company got another enterprise client asking for a single UX resource and I am seriously considering it to diversify my experience. I have 6 years of experience and my performance each year is consistently within the top 5% of my peer set. My salary is $150k plus a 15% incentive if sales targets are met. Is this competitive?

How, how in the world have all you trial lawyers gone to trial and prepared accordingly when you still have an active caseload. Every time I have a trial come up and start preparing I pray it’s pushed out so I can have the capacity to truly prepare when it comes back but each time another comes around it’s the same. In CA and civil trials are becoming more rare and I want the experience but then when it’s happening I’m praying it goes away. How am I ever gonna get this experience at this rate?
