I’ve completed 1 year as a UX Designer in my current company and I’m planning to switch. But many job posts ask for 3–5 years of experience. I still apply because I’ve heard skills matter more than years of experience. Is that actually true in reality? I strongly believe my portfolio is quite enough to impress them and understand my capabilities.

Do companies really value skills over experience? Cuz I'm having no luck with hearing back from the recruiters 🫠
