So- we run Dynamic Creative Optimization (DCO) for our clients display ads in a feed and corresponding google sheet via Google DoubleClick. My q is- does anyone know what systems out there allow for creating a template that will automatically pull a product image from say Target.com and automatically building the ad & copy without manually making 1000 ads via row for row in the google sheet? I know this is possible but curious if Sizmek or Flashtalking are more common in this type of creative development.
I just want to sleep. . 🥹

I love listening to a podcast called “The A List” by the Adhouse Ad School. They are hour long interviews with the best CDs in the business. And although they are geared toward junior creatives, I find them inspiring and helpful. You get to see what makes these guys tick...how they got to be the best. It’s an easy listen, too. I stream it on SoundCloud while driving or working out. I assume it’s also on iTunes but not sure.
Hardcore History talks about Kings and Generals often. Not much of a stretch
Glad you like it OP. Some other things worth mentioning: A few years ago, Gerry Graf wrote an article for Fast Company called “Master Class: How to make a great commercial.” It’s a one-off, but really touches on his personal management style and creative philosophy. Def worth reading. And speaking of Master Classes, think of subscribing to the new “Master Class” online video series. For $180 you can take all the classes. It’s not about advertising, but there is such a wealth of information dumbed down for Average Joes that it’s easy to see how these people became the best at what they do. Michelin Star Chefs like Thomas Keller and Ramsey...Directors like Ron Howard and Scorsese...film composers who discuss how to tell a story with music...authors like James Patterson (former ad guy) and David Mamet...photographers like Annie Leibovitz. Many of them offer words of wisdom which can serve you well in the creative fields. Money well spent.
And lastly, scan LinkedIn for relevant ad-related posts by top CDs and managers. There’s usually an article or two that’s timely and topical.
Hope this helps!

CD1: whoa, brilliant. Never heard of this but I’m loving the first two episodes I listened too. And yep, it’s on the podcast app on iOS
