To be completely honest, I think that might be a little too brave. You know how bad things are now, and they are guaranteed to be worse in a year. I would probably only leave a job if I could take the financial risk of not being employed again for a very long time.
I would think about discussing your situation with the HR department. They may be able to provide you, with more insight. Plus, you can also, check the employee handbook. I would have them place, this kind of discussion, in writing, if they agree.
I took a year break and came back with no issues after having my first child. The job market was a little better when I came back than it is now. However, the gap didn't have a negative impact like I thought it might.
