They have saved me on the road so many times. I just push a button and someone is live looking at me in 2 minutes. Can’t beat it. That service is 24/7/365.
The care has been thorough, I feel listened to instead of like I’m being rushed through the system.
IMO, concierge medicine provides a completely different approach to patient care in that the staff top to bottom have a vested interest in providing value and an elevated level of service to their patients because we do pay that annual fee.
Other places, I feel like the providers are chronically behind schedule and they don’t want to spend the time to really talk to me or hear from me about whatever issue or exam I’m in for. I hate that. Wait days to weeks for an appointment, travel to their office, then the appointment times are running half an hour late. Then you wait in the exam room another 15-30 mins or whatever because the doctor is even more behind. And then the providers have the nerve to act so pressed to get in and out of your appointment in 3 minutes. Hell no.
BTW — INOVA concierge medical practice here can be $2500+ per annum. Yes 2.5k, not a typo. I lost my favorite GP a few years back — he left INOVA regular practice to their concierge group so they sent me a flyer about joining. Hard no lol. But unfortunately the level of service and care I received at that practice with other doctors was abysmal. I went from on time appointments 100% of the time (honestly! He was ex-military and I think that had something to do with it) that were really thorough.... to 2 last minute cancels from the office, and 30-60 minute wait times. After a year of that I started looking around and found OneMedical. Haven’t looked back since.
Also, the annual membership expense is eligible to be paid via HSA funds.
Thanks for the detailed response!

To me it is - they respect my time and never keep me waiting and I have on-demand access to tele-health, no appointment necessary + the tech actually works.
Love OneMedical.
On time appointments. Patient centered care. I never feel an ounce of shame, embarrassment, or awkwardness. Refills are SO easy. You save money on copays because they can treat you virtually for so much. For women, they do all routine gyno stuff as part of your annual check up saving another copay.
Also, students and recent grads get 50% of membership. And they run an annual deal that’s about 50% off.
Literally posting this from a OneMedical waiting room.
Worth every penny so far. I've had it for a few months and the ease of getting care is awesome
I had this argument with my gf when Covid kicked off. If you already have something like Teladoc via your company, then not really.
It does offer ease of access as they are digitally integrated in major cities with just about every Medstar facility. However, it is still an additional cost of $200, and you will still have a copay with your insurance.
Total scam for first time patient here, charged over 450$ usd for two 10min virtual consults in the same week. Total scam.
Yes, they are well run and easy to get same day appointments. Well worth the cost per year.
