Please do get written in your offer letter that this variable percent will not increase in next appraisal and will remain same. From personal experience, I have been told that your variable may change on role change which is your band and will not change during normal appraisals. But during first appraisal my fixed component got very low increment while whole of the increment was done to variable to match it to company standard of 15%. If you will get it written on your offer letter, then it will be followed. To mention, my first appraisal does not include role change.
Other things you can ask is that when will your first salary revision be done and then the subsequent one.
They have Jan to Dec cycle and appraisals happen in March end. You will get arrears in your March salary.
Also variable is from Jan to December and is given in March salary. So at any point of time, your minimum 5 months variable is always blocked if you resign in best possible scenario.
This year it's average of 10-13% in my team.
Experience range from freshers to 8-9 YOE
It is 12-9 job. Even if someone says it's regular shift, do not believe. Also, you will be on 24/7 support on pager duty may be alternate weeks.
Work wise, you will have lot to learn, lot to work, challenging environment, knowledgeable colleagues. Trainings, tech talks, dedicated channels for discussions and many other things. If you focus on work and does not care about rest, it is one of the best.
@publicissapient1, what's CCTC and yoe? Also what are the offers from Black and Cvent ??
Generally people get 3.5 rating on which i think they provide 95% variable
You mean like during offer say fixed is 10 and variable is only 50k (5%), now if first year if there is 14% hike and CTC increases from 10.5L to 12L. You mean fix will be around 11.1 and rest all is variable?(so that it becomes 7.5% of Fix) This is not right since there is zero or very minimal change in fixed pay. Also variable is calculated on fix pay or on CTC?
Variable is 95% at 3 rating, 100% at 3.5 rating and 105% at 4 rating. Mostly people get 3.5 rating which is meets expectation.
Variable is 15% for everyone above 20Lpa unless you negotiate something else at joining time.
Appraisals are on base+variable
Yes you’re right.
and variable is calculated on your base pay(fix).
You can consider the variable as annual bonus since everyone gets it everytime unless you’re on PIP or notice period at that time.
Hikes increase both fixed & variable, the trend that i have seen is that they increase 2.5% variable on every increment
