Hi guys, need your opinion
I wanted to know, is it very rare to get a job as firmware / embedded developer where I'll majorly be involved in actual development / coding of new features, rather than debugging & fixing the issues?
Till now I have worked in 2 good companies as a firmware developer, but in both roles, development phase used to be there only for couple of months (at the starting of new project) and rest of the year would go in debugging & fixing.
Is it normal or I'm only in bad role?

Generally during project milestone planning, customer is not giving enough time to follow left limb of v-cycle. This is captured on right limb which increases its time. Its normal in all the companies that develop software for clients. For in house development, this case may varry. Showing testing limb of a company as strong makes customer also happy and increase the confidence level. So you dont want to worry about development time as what ever happening on left limb is considered as development. This includes design changes and bug fix as well.

I’ve had a bad case of work anxiety ever since I started a new job ~7 months ago. The adjustment was ROUGH. I was making mistake after mistake. I powered through and somehow got glowing reviews at year end, with people saying I’ve moved past that point.

I’m convinced I’ve only tricked people and sooner or later they’re gonna catch on. I have extremely bad Sunday scaries, I’m always fighting down my anxiety whenever a new ask comes through. I don’t know what to do.
