So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

I’ve found that big Pharma tend not to feel like startup experience translates over 1:1 (yourll notice this in interviews). Not to say they won’t hire you, but if you make it to BD Director yourll probably still be hired in as a BD associate/representative/manager due to the YOE, number of people managed, and responsibility. You could hop into big pharma right now but the career progression might be slower than you like. I would say your best bet would be to hop into consulting (try not to limit yourself to the top firms for entry). It’ll be tough but yourll gain experience faster and it’ll be easier for to transfer in when you want to
I wouldn’t recommend consulting, if you know you want to work in a specific industry.
Being a consultant is painful and there’s a reason people are constantly looking to exit.
What specifically do you do at your job?

I would just move to another company. You could get a job at an acquisitive Biopharma or go to an early stage company and hope it pans out for a big pay day. Avoid consulting
Thanks! Why would you recommend avoiding consulting?
But if you’re still adamant on joining consulting, DM me. I probably do stuff closest to what you’re looking for
