I was just offered a CUNY role. The title is Higher Education Assistant. According to Glassdoor, the average annual pay for that role is $83,418. However, I was offered $62,500. I requested for the minimum annual salary to be 75k. Does anyone have experience navigating the CUNY system and their pay?
Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.
What’s does “fill the gap” mean??

Had you got anything positive? I am also in same condition. Planning to look for job at l2 visa
Bro/Sis, think before coming. This is not to demotivate, but a wise suggestion, you may take it or not. I am data engineer with 8.5+ years of experience in AWS, Python, SQL, Pyspark and other niche skills. I came to USA in Feb 2023 to San Francisco CA, and unfortunately unable to get a job till date. Reason: Recession, Not getting calls till June, no body prefers L2S visa, no prior experience in USA. A lot of US candidates are in the market, there is a chance that you will not even get a call just because you are Asian/L2 visa holder/No USA experience.
Have a good luck and wish me luck as well :)
Really, this much difficult for Indians to get job now ?
The market is tough in USA especially for people like us - No USA experience/ L2 Visa/ Asians. I came here in March, and haven't been able to secure a job till date. I have given a couple of interviews but due to some vague reasons, I am not selected.
PS I have worked in companies like KPMG and EY in India, and I am even applying for fresher roles here, still no luck.
hello - saw this post while searching for jobs on l2visa , may I know if any of you had luck and how long it took to get a job ?
