Hi y’all! I’m working on a legal research project on virtual power plants! Without resorting to google, how would you define a VPP?

Hey guys, need some advice. I was fortunate enough to get the Consortium fellowship at Ross but am also stuck on the CBS waitlist and am still planning to apply to Wharton in R3. Assuming I get into CBS/Wharton, is there that much of a difference between them to forgo scholarship money? For context, I want to get into product management at FAANG/fintech with pursuing MBB as a plan B. Thanks in advance!

I’m 6 months pregnant and scheduled a 30 minute meeting to chat with my HR rep to talk about our parental leave benefits (specifically how to navigate taking additional, unpaid time)…. She declined the meeting and directed me to review the policy documentation online and email her with any specific questions I have. Is that normal? Feeling a bit unsupported but also not trying to overreact

Started at a big firm in July with high hopes- in the career path I wanted and I would be joining with other new grads.
After onboarding, it’s as if my team forgets about us every day. The training is non existent, there doesn’t seem to be any initiative to invest in new hires, my manager scolds me for not knowing enough yet gives no direction. I don’t want to waste time (colleagues mentioned it doesn’t get much better from here). Do I embrace the suck or look for other opportunities?

Additional Posts in Energy Law

Does anyone on here recommend making a switch from law to policy work? Is that looked down upon in the energy law space or is there some rewarding features of utilizing one’s JD in the policy space? I’ve been interviewing for policy roles and am really passionate about clean energy policy. I guess I’m also wondering if practicing law in the energy regulatory space is worthwhile given my interests.

I'd love to get to know more about the energy space and build an understanding of what goes on in the field. I'm London based and would be very interested in speaking with any practitioners (private or in-house) that'd be willing to chat over a coffee!

Any hot takes on the likely comments con interconnection reform????

Welcome to all who may be interested in exchanging ideas, news, documents, etc. I’ve been working in the competitive electricity area for 40 years and now is the most dynamic and exciting time I’ve experienced. And I’m fortunate to be working for an organization, MISO, that is at the center of addressing many of those changes. Looking forward to hearing from others!

Any energy law attorneys that can provide insight into the value of certain experience leading into other areas of energy law, or whether it will be niche? Specifically, Dept. of Energy enforcement division, trial attorney. Being told it's not niche, but I'm in employment lit now and want to be in energy/enviro. lit/project finance. I know it is a big jump, so I'm trying to weigh options regarding gaining experience and I have no one to ask/no alumni who have done that track.
