I graduated in June with a dual BSBA in healthcare management and human resources management/organizational management and two associates degrees in business and arts. I have twelve years of experience as a certified clinical medical assistant.

I'm having trouble finding my first job as a healthcare manager. After submitting many applications and receiving so many rejection emails, I've become frustrated. Any advice anyone can give is greatly appreciated.

United Healthcare fishes, does anyone have any salary insight to Manager of Data Analytics? I’m interviewing next week with a recruiter and compensation will come up. I also would like to ask how to approach this one additional issue. Seeing as it’s the end of January, if they’re looking to fill the role prior to March, it would mean I walk away from my current employer’s bonus which pays out in the 2nd week of March. I’m expecting $20k. How do I go about asking for a one time starting bonus?

Can i leave my 401k and HSA as is from my previous employer? Its vested in a mutual fund and I don't want to transfer it to my new employer's 401k. The old account is with fidelity and it has around 20k in it. It's been more than 120 days since I changed my job.

My uncle always makes fun of hospitals/healthcare saying they’re mostly in the dark ages with technology and it is the least advanced/productive industry. It’s making me think I should move into engineering/tech like him or another more productive area of the economy. It also seems to pay mediocre compared to other fields.

For those of you who went from B4 to smaller consulting firms, how did you like it? Any unexpected benefits/issues?

Am considering a move to Bain (from MB) - I work in the PE Group and do a ton of diligence. My logic is higher compensation, better benefits and that Bain has a more established PE practice so that gives me a stronger platform for a sustainable long term career where I don’t have to balance PE work with strategic work to be seen as successful.

Currently only downside I see is having to rebuild my network.

When leaving KPMG for another company, what are the payouts, if any? (Unused vacation days, etc) And is a 401k rollover required, or can you stay with Merrill Lynch?

Mathematicians/Tax Accountants, since I can never figure out tax brackets in CA, what would my net salary be on a $150k salary before 401k, insurance and all that jazz gets taken out? They say rule of thumb is assume 30% but is that realistic?

Just got paid out on my last day. How do I know the amount is accurate? Yep, it's almost equal to 2 paychecks. But I want to know if my pension was paid out to that same check. If it did, then I think I got paid less.
