Hello ? 👋
Hi fishes! My spouse is planning to go to India but we would need to get her visa stamped before coming back. I see that getting appointment is such a huge problem right now. Can we get her visa stamped from a different country? In this case, we were considering Qatar, she grew up there and has her brother there. For what it’s worth she qualifies for Dropbox in India. How do I find out if Qatar works in our case?Deloitte
Do you really work 8 hours a day?

Lol right , to both
Which company
Definitely bounce.
Please leave, being at a big name company doesn’t matter if you’re unhappy. Go where you are valued.
Depends on where you are. If your at a big firm. Stick it out for a little longer until you get another offer or applied and found one. No reason in jumping ship without a backup plan
Agree with the backup plan I just don’t know how my lack of experience/leaving a company early on could look to recruiters
I feel for you!! I’m always trying to learn how to onboard people better- if there is one thing the company could do to make your experience better/smoother what would it be? A more active manager?
Thanks for the reply and good luck! It’s a good reminder for me and others who are further along in their careers to remember what it was like just starting out. My advice while you’re on the bench, unsure of what to do because you aren’t given directions- take the time to learn as much as you can by other means- Linked-in learning, you tube, scholarly articles- take advantage of your firm’s resources and become conversant on a hot button problem your firm helps clients solve.
Have you tried talking to your manager in 1:1 and asked them to provide more guidance?
Ask for specifics like
- expectations from you for this quarter / month / week
- what trainings you need to complete / topics you need to learn more about to be able to get good (according to them) at your job
- people you need to meet
Don’t give up yet - if you’re at your first job, there’s a lot you can still learn (or at least you learn what not to do).
While it’s true managers can always do a better job, almost always there’s also likely more YOU can do in terms of being proactive, taking initiative, creating your own work plan, etc.
Good luck!
Is there an opportunity to switch to a different role/reporting line/office at your current company? That way may avoid your concern about looking like you didn't stay long on resume in the future.
