Honestly, most times when I take a short duration PTO I end up working just as many hours the day or two before that I question if it’s even worth it. Has anyone cracked the code for letting things go and signing off at a decent time?

I have tomorrow off and will likely end up working straight until 2 or 3am to get everything done. I’m pretty good about checking out once I’m out but need to get better at wrapping things up beforehand.

It's really hard for me to do too. One of the things I've tried is communicating really clearly what time I need to be off - e.g., I'll send you the EoD email at X time with whatever format its in, it might not be perfect but I need to catch my flight. I've usually ended up working on the flights lol but at least trying to set a boundary makes it more likely they're at least somewhat followed

I always say I’m going to do that and set the boundary but always get so caught up thinking that I have to do it or it won’t get done or done right. It feels easier/faster to just do it myself than explain it to someone else but I need to get better about that.

I can't help but feel that my current 'Digital Managing Partner' job title is a little too niche when it comes to LinkedIn job/resume keyword relevance, particularly outside of a media agency environment. However, a 'Digital Director' title feels too junior and 'Managing Director' maybe a little more senior. Any logical suggestions please? Thanks

What is work-life balance like in big tech legal? I’m currently in house at a large multinational; I like my job and I get paid fine, with a very good WLB (40-45 hrs). I want to look into FAANG-type opportunities as they would mean a huge pay bump, and I think I’m qualified, but I have no idea about the hours, and I don’t want to substantially give up WLB, as that’s why I left BigLaw. I don’t want to be miserable again. I know Amazon is poorly reputed for lawyer WLB… what about other places?
