Given how the job market has been in the past year, it's likely that gaps in one's work history wouldn't be viewed as anything unusual or overly negative. Of course, it always depends on the circumstances and the explanation. How someone lost their job is part of the story, as is how they've spent their time while unemployed. If someone was laid off and struggling to find another job that's probably par for the course.
They're less impactful than ever. If you're looking for a job, there's a very good chance it's because you lost yours and have a gap on your resume. Recruiters/interviewers/HMs understand this.
Agree with this. It’s been less impactful than I thought and especially if you can do some side hustle or project work to fill the time as well.
Especially how everything shook out last year, I doubt anyone would question short breaks nowadays. I wouldn't address it unless I was asked directly about that period of time.
