It’s pretty rough here in the states. People are leaving without an opportunity lined up. They’d rather quit and search for jobs / freelance than continue to work here.
There’s a lot of stress due to being severely overresourced / understaffed. People keep leaving and we can’t seem to replace them.
Finance is set on business growth so it’s hard to hire new people, yet strangely there’s an over reliance on freelancers.
PMs are hybrid and basically act as Account Management under the “Director” level. They seem to be constantly exhausted and overworked, with many sending messages and updating timelines around midnight or over the weekends.
Lastly, NYC area just began an official RTO, with two days in the office. It’s a bit weird because we still work with people/teams outside of NYC, so meetings can feel like the people on Zoom are being left out of in-person conversations.
Also, FYI, there is no Director level role for PMs. It’s just Program Managers and Senior Program Managers—the years of experience for both vary wildly to the point some of them have as much experience as a Director or Group Director level.
I love these “how are things at xyz these days” posts 😂😂. So obviously HR probing.
