Depending. Honestly for me is not that hard. If I have a deadline, that adrenaline is what pushes me. I put my headphones on and it’s heads down. If I have too many distractions at home, I go to a coffee shop or something and change the scenery a bit to get some of that dopamine and to be away from stuff at home that can distract me
Try using a focus tracker app like FocusKeeper
Have you tried an MBA?
Ahhh… there you are D1! I heard about you. This is your go-to answer everywhere for everything. 🤣🤣🤣
I was the same and decided to pay for a coworking space. I only go 2 days a week and it’s not a cure all but just the energy of other humans in a space helps me focus and recharges me in general compared to being stuck in the solo home office 5 days/week
I struggle a lot working from home too. For three years after COVID I was working from home and my productivity and moods were always low. Once I started an in-office job, I was thriving. I need the structure and some people around to keep my energy levels and focus up. Unfortunately, more jobs are going remote these days atleast in my line.
It’s funny how individual these things are. Broadly, I work much better at home than I ever did in an office. Other people are way more interesting to me than anything else I guess. I do have to get out of the house more during the summer because of my kids (because they find ME more interesting than anything else).
That said, it is important to have a dedicated work space at home if you can. On days when for one reason or another I have to work in some other part of my house, I’m definitely more prone to distraction
I just have 8 projects going around the house and when I get bored of one I go do a different one till I’m
bored of that one. No skipping an important project, always just do the next step if you don’t feel like engaging fully. Even if it’s just finding a document you need to read later. Eventually you will get energized by the cycling thru projects and you’ll have faith that all projects are moving forward.
What I usually try to do is as soon as it sta
For me as someone who struggles with ADHD, it doesnt matter if I am home or in the office. The best thing to do is to try to get work done right away instead of waiting for the deadline to approach. Give yourself breaks, get up and walk away from the computer whenever you start getting foggy. Get water, use the bathroom, talk to someone, but then get right back to work. Use sticky notes, for everything!!!!
