Has anyone successfully proposed and negotiated a move from full-time at an agency to freelance? Would love to hear about both positive and negative experiences!

How many people earn a degree in Engineering but don’t pursue a career in it,for whatever reason?I know at least one and I don’t know why they spent all that time and money if they weren’t going continue in it

I have been offered the role of software engineer 2b in boa.I have an overall experience of 7+ years. Is this the right designation / am i being low balled?

Curious if anyone else is or has been in the same boat. I started as an assistant at an entertainment law firm prior to passing the bar. Upon passing, the partner told me they would hire an assistant for me since I now became an associate. That was 1.5 years ago and I am still in the limbo of juggling my own workload + doing assistant roles for my supervisors. I have also had no increase in pay, which is a huge deal for me. I am a consultant working in one of the big 4. I have got a call from DE Shaw HR for a role in their Project Finance and Investment Research team focusing on Energy sector? My current CTC is 20,
Nagarro offering 27 max and 3lakh joining bonus.
Tech stack and yoe: AWS + NodeJS and 6.4 yoe

Intiatially they told they are considering me for staff engineer role but after interview they are offering associate staff engineer. Is it worth to join?

What is the minimum yoe required for associate staff engineer and staff engineer roles?

Friendly reminder folks- don’t work for Havas Health and You. They cut the freelancers hourly rates, again and made it so there’s no OT. The resource manager at HOV said if I couldn’t swing $80 an hour as an HCP copywriter, she’d have to find someone else. Good luck 👍🏻

How often do y’all adjust your rates? I’m fairly new to freelancing but I’m getting a ton of interest. The company I’m with met my rate with no negotiation, which signals I might be selling myself short. Is it uncool to ask for more if they want to extend my contract? Or is it better to just end with them and ask for more from the next company?

Just started a new in-house tech fl gig and it’s giving me whiplash! Somehow this dept has brought every person/toxic behavior from their old agency just to a new environment. Nowhere is perfect but good god. I honestly think companies/HR could learn a lot about their depts from freelancers.
