Started my job at a small firm two months ago and I feel like the partners are giving me better cases than they are to another associate who’s been at the firm for 5 years… I’m wondering when is a good time to ask for a performance review/pay discussion. I went from being at a nonprofit for 4 years ($58,750/yr) to an entry level associate ($75,000/yr) but I do feel like I can ask and deserve more. Thoughts?

I was told today that my position is being moved from salary to hourly at the first of the year. I was assured my pay will remain the same, it will just be at an hourly rate. Why would a company do this? Btw, my job regularly requires more than 40 hrs week. Should I be nervous?

Tip for anyone taking the CAIA exam, get UpperMark. Was using willey and was abt 1/2 complete and borrowed a friends test bank … night and day much harder and honestly was more like what I expected

Thoughts on CAIA? Difficulty, hours studied, study tips, overall experiences, etc.? I’ll be sitting for Level 1 in September. Currently work in the fund of funds space - moving over to my firm’s hedge fund research team soon so CAIA seemed like a perfect way to get knowledge in the area beforehand. My boyfriend of a year got a DUI this weekend and has had drinking problems in the past. He fully admits he is an alcoholic, and will do therapy/go to AA moving forward. My therapist suggested I be a “computer program running in the background” and essentially leave him to allow him to work on himself. This is obviously a really hard decision, and I feel like I should listen to my therapist, but my heart is pulling me the other way. Anyone else been through something similar or have advice?
