Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Time in the market always beats trying to time the market
Ask yourself why you sold and never follow that advice or logic again
@OP I don’t think it was wrong to pull money out of the stock market if you feel at risk of losing your job. You traded growth for security and that’s okay.
If you don’t have an emergency fund, you should probably work on building one though.
Put it back into the market lol
sell low...buy high...my mantra for life

I took 5% out of the market in March because of the tarrif madness (not at the bottom but certainly lower than today). Its earning 4-5% in mmf. No regrets. It's not like I'm LOSING money and I have peace of mind to deploy it when I want to.
It's gone up ~10%, so it cost you 1,500 to learn a life lesson. You won't repeat the mistake when you have hundreds of thousands. That's valuable.

lol at the people on here who were panic selling. So glad I wasn’t one

$15k?!
Just dollar cost average for the rest of your life. It’s not hard.
Don't avoid it. Learn from it.
That’s around just $600-800 notional profit (+~5%) from the bump since then, which you could have never predicted any way.
I sold $$ worth RKLB, Palantir, and HOOD during April Tariffs! They’ve gone 3-4x up since then.
typically for myself i just “set it and forget it” granted im in my later twenties so my mentality with investing is to just keep growing my account and try to buy more if the market ever dips

Use options if you want to time the market.
“Exiting” the market outside of that by selling your portfolio is never great. Unless you need cash for some reason
I always freak out when my current account goes <30k and almost sell my stock to feel "safe"
Buy and hold. I literally only look at my portfolio once or twice a year.
Don’t try to market time.
Dont buy 🤣
What did you do with the 15k, did you invest in something else
It’s in a money market account. We increased our liquidity
