Finally found THE one, after over a year of searching and trying out at least 5 different ones!
A nice comfortable office chair.

My criteria: mesh seat and back, arms, headrest
I tried cheap ones from Amazon. Expensive, second hand gaming chairs. Tried HM Aeron (second hand) and while I didn't like the bulk and the general design, I was sold on the mesh seating. I wanted to get the ErgoChair 2 from autonomous, but it doesn't have mesh seat.
AMA.

Definitely not divorce. That almost seems like a prerequisite
Haha! I agree, but I figured it might carry some stigma with the older generations / boomers.
Agreed that bankruptcy and divorce don’t matter, and yeah, there are a lot of divorced partners (me included).
One DWI is probably ok if you go into some kind of program. Firms are generally pretty good about giving second chances. Given the level of substance abuse in this profession, it’s kind of a “there but for the grace of god” situation.
Bankruptcy would be a big problem for me without extenuating circumstances. I don’t want to be business partners with someone who can’t keep their own house in order.
Maybe I am senior enough, 45 years of practice, so I can give you my experience. Divorce, at least in the Northeast, California and Florida, seem to be irrelevant. Bankruptcy long in the past is not important, but recent, one or two years, may cause concerns because it represents the obvious issue of financial responsibility. DWI is an issue if it is a pattern and recent, not so much if you got it in college.
Equity partnership at most firms requires a book of business. If said book of business is large enough, not much is stopping you (unless you’re in the situation described by Senior Attorney 1)
Yes.
We have a local DWI attorney where I live, who advertised extensively. He ended up accused of DWI and was kicked out of his own firm. Now, he had opened a new one.
