Maybe unpopular opinion but no matter what leggings pretend to be I always think leggings. I feel much better more comfortable with wider flowy pants. That said the question is hard. Maybe with structured jackets, tops, blazer to throw over?
Yeah I think sweaters and jackets help, or even a longer shirt like a tunic or button up and layers like a jacket or scarf can help elevate things. Also consider shoes, like whether you go with sneakers/sandals to lean into the athleisure or a nice loafer (pounted toe flat or whatever) to emphasize the sleekness.
But at the end of the day you're still wearing athleisure and I feel like the folks at Costco (or wherever else you're running errands) won't care.

I agree with SC1– no matter what you do (hair, makeup, accessories, etc.) wearing leggings is wearing leggings.
There are so many trousers and work pants out there now that are just as comfortable as leggings while elevating a look (huge Lululemon fan and they have a bunch of new work wear). I’ve been making a conscious effort to pick these over leggings and pair with a comfortable button down or polo. I WFH for 7+ years now and I’ve realized only recently that there are plenty of options that provide me comfort but being more elevated than leggings.

Agree! Here’s a few other options:
Halara— great sales, athletic feel but work pant fits. Mid range quality and price
Loft — love their elastic waist band work trousers
Abercrombie - shop the sales and they have the best work trousers!
Theory — most expensive option but these are great quality and proper work pants but SO comfy. Shop theory outlet online for better deals.
Also another tip— follow the fabrics with thr season you’re in. Spring is now in full swing so linen is awesome for the warmer weather. Jcrew and Loft have a good linen selection (and will have great sales for Easter / Memorial Day).
beta brand has some comfortable but looks like real pants options (yoga denim, yoga dress pants)
also in warmer weather i love a skirt with a fun pattern. skirts can be very comfortable and feels a bit more stylish and can elevate a plain tshirt as a top.
also i got into longer cardigans and coats. kinda love the drama and coziness of a long coat .
